This Privacy Policy explains how Shake! collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the app.
We collect information you provide when creating or using an account, including your email address, username, unique handle, display name, authentication provider, password authentication status, and email verification status.
When you upload a challenge submission, we collect and store the photo, caption, upload time, related challenge week, and submission metadata so the content can be shown to you and your accepted friends.
Shake! may request access to your camera or photo library so you can take or choose a photo for a challenge submission. We only receive and store a photo if you choose to upload it as a submission.
We collect app activity such as challenge reveal status, submissions, votes cast, votes received, XP events, badges, weekly stats, leaderboard activity, friend requests, accepted friends, reports, and onboarding completion status.
We use your information to create and manage your account, verify your email, show weekly challenges, display submissions, manage friends, calculate votes, XP, badges and leaderboards, operate app features, troubleshoot issues, improve reliability, prevent misuse, and maintain safety.
Shake! is designed as a friends-based app. Your submissions, captions, profile details, XP, badges, and leaderboard activity may be visible to accepted friends. Shake! does not currently provide a public discovery feed.
If a submission is reported, we may collect report information such as the reported submission, reporting user, submission owner, report reason, timestamps, and report status. We use this information to review safety or content concerns and enforce our Terms.
Shake! uses Firebase and related Google services for authentication, database storage, file storage, backend functions, and app infrastructure. These services process and store data needed to operate the app.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share or process information through service providers that help operate Shake!, when required by law, to protect safety or security, to investigate abuse, or to enforce our Terms.
You can delete your account from inside the app through Account settings. Account deletion removes or deactivates your profile and deletes related app data where technically possible, including submissions and uploaded photos. Deleted accounts may temporarily leave a minimal hidden record so the app can prevent broken references and allow admin cleanup.
We keep account data, submissions, XP events, badge records, friend data, reports, and app activity data for as long as needed to operate Shake!, provide features, maintain safety, debug issues, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, and preserve app integrity. Deleted account tombstones and dead references may be cleaned by administrators.
We use authentication, Firebase security rules, access controls, backend restrictions, and account verification to help protect user data. However, no app, network, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Shake! is not intended for children under the minimum age required in their region. Users should only use Shake! if they are old enough to consent to these Terms and this Privacy Policy.
Your information may be processed or stored in countries or regions where Firebase, Google, or related infrastructure operates. Data protection laws may differ from those in your location.
You can choose what content you upload, remove friends, report submissions, stop using the app, or delete your account from Account settings. For privacy questions or help, contact shakesupport@gmail.com.
We may update this Privacy Policy as Shake! changes. Updated versions may be shown in the app or made available through official channels. Continued use of Shake! after changes means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
